At the invitation of Professor Dong Guanghui from the college of Earth and Environmental Sciences and the Key Laboratory of Western Environmental Education at Lanzhou University, Professor Zhang Hucai from Yunnan University visited our school for an academic exchange and delivered a lecture on November 9, 2023.

Expert Profile:

Professor Zhang Hucai, a distinguished Tier-2 Professor at Yunnan University and a foreign member of the Russian Academy of Natural Sciences, leads the Plateau Lake Ecology and Environmental Change team as the Principal Investigator (PI). His research expertise encompasses lake sediment and climate change, lake ecology, and pollution remediation. Professor Zhang has been at the helm of several prestigious projects, including key initiatives funded by the National Natural Science Foundation of China, international collaborative projects, NSFC-Yunnan joint fund projects, leading talent programs and high-end talent introduction projects in Yunnan Province. He has published over 300 papers in top-tier international academic journals. As a principal participant, he has been awarded the second-class National Natural Science Award, the first-class Natural Science Award from the Ministry of Education, and the first-class Award for Scientific and Technological Progress from the National Education Commission.
