Professor Tang Luliang is a prominent figure in the field of technological innovation, holding the esteemed position of a leading talent in the National "Ten Thousand Talents Program." He is a second-level Professor and Doctoral Supervisor at Wuhan University, as well as the Chief Scientist of the National High-Resolution Earth Observation Program. Professor Tang has been recognized as a high-level talent in Hunan Province and is an esteemed recipient of the Furong Scholar Award. Additionally, he is an innovation talent in China's Optics Valley, an influential figure in GIS innovation among Chinese universities, and the Chief Technology Advisor for Huawei Maps. Furthermore, he serves as the Deputy Director of the Ministry of Education's Engineering Center for Intelligent Acquisition and Application of Spatiotemporal Data.
Professor Tang has taken on roles such as Academic Committee Member for the Key Laboratory of Surveying and Remote Sensing in Hunan Province, Technical Committee Member of the Ministry of Education's Engineering Center for Intelligent Acquisition and Application of Spatiotemporal Data, Committee Member of the China GIS Theory and Methodology Committee, Member of the China Laser Radar Professional Committee, Member of the China Smart City Working Committee, Member of the China Urban Spatial Information Committee, Science and Technology Commissioner of Guangdong Province, Guest Editor for the SCI journal "Applied Science," Guest Associate Editor for "Journal of Surveying and Mapping," and Editorial Board Member of "Geography and Geographic Information Science."
Professor Tang Luliang has led and successfully completed over 30 technology research projects, including major initiatives such as the National High-Resolution Earth Observation Program, Basin Security Monitoring Project, pre-research on common technologies and equipment for the "Thirteenth Five-Year Plan," equipment research, projects funded by the National Natural Science Foundation, as well as various cross-industry projects with Huawei and others. He has published more than 120 SCI/SSCI papers, with over 30 appearing in top-tier journals. He has held 18 authorized patents and has received seven provincial and ministerial awards, including three First Prize awards for Scientific and Technological Progress from the Ministry of Education, a First Prize for Natural Science from the Ministry of Education, and two First Prize awards from the China Surveying and Mapping Science and Technology for Innovation in Science and Technology and a First Prize for China Electric Power Innovation Technology, among others.
