Speaker Profile:

Guiyun Jin is a professor at the Cultural Heritage Research Institute of Shandong University, Director of the Environmental Archaeology Laboratory at the Center for Eastern Archaeological Studies, and Deputy Director of the National Archaeological Experimental Teaching Demonstration Center at Shandong University. His research focuses on plant archaeology, environmental archaeology, and the application of modern science and technology in archaeology. He has led several key projects, including the Ministry of Education's Key Science and Technology Project, the China Scholarship Council project, the National Natural Science Foundation of China project, and a sub-project of the Ministry of Science and Technology's China Civilization Detective Project. He has published numerous papers in domestic and international academic journals, including Science Bulletin, The Holocene, Archaeological and Anthropological Sciences, Quaternary Science Reviews, Science China, and Archaeology. He has also authored or co-authored several monographs, with his recent work, "Geoscientific Archaeology: Methods and Practices," being recognized as an "Outstanding Cultural Heritage Book of the Year 2022" in China.
